Where should the metal engine ID tag be located on an S code 67 built at NJ in mid may?

Since a thread was already started with an appropriate title, I thought I would continue with a couple of questions.

I found the tag on my engine attached to the coil bolt, as mentioned. It appears appropriate to my application, but can anyone please verify and possibly help with some of the codes...particularly the last character on each line.

The tag seems to reconcile with the casting date of the engine (7C6). My next question question is, would this casting date be too close to my cars actual build date of March 10, 1967?

Just to clarify for all reading this is in reference to your ‘67 390 FB A/T P/S P/B (Built 3/10/1967) 7F02173xxx

Believe Preaction  decoded the aluminum tag correctly according to Ford documents and seems to fit the car mentioned above considering its a Dearborn build

As for the question about the date spread (engine casting to car completion date at Dearborn) does seem very tight. Would suggest you look for the assembly date as it will likely be later than the March 6th or could be even after March 10th.

Where should I look for the assembly date stamping? I have yet to pull the engine, so it may be on the rear....but I haven't found anything on the little bit of cleaning I have done on the front of the engine.

Bill, the engine assembly date is a hand stamped number on a small machined  pad on the drivers side front of the engine just below where the cylinder head mounts to the block.
