Windlace
« on: July 20, 2012, 06:00:05 PM »
We now have the "weave" pattern windlace available in black.  I'll post this under "parts for sale," but I have a question.  I know this weave pattern was used on '66 Mustangs, but was it used on some of the '67 and up cars?

Tim,

So, do you see this style used on all 67-up cars?

Thanks.

From the blog at:
http://blog.virginiaclassicmustang.com/

I'm looking for any feedback from 1967 and up Mustang owners, because this style of windlace was probably used in these models, depending on the production plant and production time.

Brant,
I was going to email this to you but figured I'd share it here.

Looks like Drake..is kinda close, but obviously, Not close enough..

Why do they goto the trouble of making this stuff when it doesn;t even look like the original??

Back to the drawing board for this part...obviously..

It matches one pattern that I have seen.  Going by the photo posted of the red windlace, there may have been a third supplier.

So, it is not really incorrect.

Agree with Brant.  Thought we had been through this subject before and it came out that there were multiple patterns.  I've seen at least 3 different patterns, maybe 4 for 65-68.

The Red windlace example is pretty much what I've always seen.. in '65-'66   For kicks, I just went out the garage and pulled out a box of windlace that I had removed from about 10 junker '65-'66 cars... All match the Red windlace pictured above.   Just my experience...  It sounds like the start of a really interesting thread.

I don't think this pattern was used in 68.

I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the other patterns.  I must have been living under a rock and missed the previous discussion.  ;D  All new to me.
