Tar underlayment

Hi Guys
Anyone know where to get the correct tarry underlayment / sound deadener that goes under the carpets ?
I saw a set of pre cut stuff for sale privately a while ago but did not get it.

No one makes (as far as I'm aware) stuff like the original but then again no one will ever see it expect in areas like the trunk ;)

Snake-oyl stuff is similar but not as many layers or the same details as the original last time I purchased it.

To add to this, there was more than one style of material used also.  I have found three styles of underlayment in the same car.

There seems to be at least a couple of original suppliers as I seen a few different variations on later cars and then you have the thin stuff that was used at San Jose (at least - haven't found enough Dearborn and NJ underlayment to see a pattern yet) .

I have quite a bit of the dearborn stuff left in my car, but it is breaking up badly.
It is very thin.

I am not associated with them, however several years ago I drove out to the company, took a tour and met the owner. Which by the way, he is a MCA judge and once a director too! I had them restore my seatbelts as well.

Thanks but I think I've got examples -

Guessing from the "very thin" comment its the single layer roofing paper we see on earlier cars verses the sandwich that was used later in 65 and through 73

Some examples






Later stuff (exterior final coat may be clear plastic or paper or a combination from the ones I've collected)

I cannot remember any top coating, It is dark in colour and thin. Guessing a couple of mm.
I will have to take some pics when I can get to it.

I called them and asked what pieces I needed for a fastback. Seemed to be a difficult question ??
The front and rear pans and tunnel are simple CUMS, as is the rear seat, CUMSFT. But I dont understand the transition piece CUMST

I am not getting on very well.
I eventually got an email back saying I needed the front set inc rear pans and the transition piece. I asked what the transition piece was for - no respose.
So I looked on NPD and they have a picture of all the parts. Seems I need the front set and the rear seat piece. The transition piece was not originaly fitted.
It is not good when you have to go to a competitors site to find info on a product.
I also asked for a price to deliver to FL so all I have to do is make a quick call with a credit card number, the resonse was to order from the online catalogue as it may be quicker.
Unfortunately when you are overseas this does not work.

Thanks for the heads up on the company. I know they do a good product but they need to be sharper and easier to deal with.
