1969 Shelby console restoration
« on: January 04, 2010, 09:41:00 PM »
I would like to have the plastic chrome ring around the entire console insert (gauge pod) redone. Anyone have a good source for someone to tackle this? If anyone has had it done, what should the cost be? Thanks

What will happen is that whoever does it will probably chrome the whole thing. That isn't a bad thing necessarily. It is relatively easy to mask off and shoot the black on to it. You just have to use a low tack tape and not leave it on long , like overnight . I had to do a few over the years. The dash bezels are the hard ones to paint IMHO.There were never very many companies that would repaint after the chroming process but it is nice if you find one that can. It has been too long since I sent any out to offer a reference. Bob
