Topic: "A" pillar trim and emergency flasher

On the 1969 mach 1 :

The 2 "A" pillar trim screws are stainless on my car.  Seems odd to me.  Most of the other trim screws are black

Is this correct?

Also - is the flasher button and the trim piece around it - was it painted with the steering column in charcoal black metallic?

The "A" pillar screws and the windshield header screws on my Nov. 69 San Jose Mach 1 are original and silver, or dull chrome maybe after all these years.
Might be cadmium too, all I can tell you for sure is they're not black.
I see the quality chrome finish on the screws for earlier years, but not much in 69.
The plastic bezel and button are molded in the color of the column IIRC.
Someone with a colored interior needs to chime in.
They're a wear item that I wouldn't paint.

Sounds like I got the same screws on the a pillar, good. As I said, these particular screws for the pillar are much different than the rest. 

So all across the header panel the screws in your car are the same stainless/silver/ ?

The windshield header screws look exactly like the other trim screws trim found throughout my cars interior, which are painted the trim color.  I didn't know my car's original interior look, just what I got,  which was a mixture of good and not so good...   

Sorry if this sounds dumber than a sackfull of hammers, but when the factory was installing the interior panels, they were not painted to match?  Or just in certain areas?

I find that hard to believe cause we have all kinds of the lower dash end caps and caps near the radio in colors other then black!

Oh please believe Here is a low mileage blue interior 69 Grande for example   

Remember that the extensions are not the same color as the bottom of the dashes on Mustangs (different on Cougars )

Here is just one example - have hundreds at least of other examples. If you want something from a particular period or color just ask and I'll try and provide

Have not seen black or black oxide screws used in that locations

LOL I don't just wasn't aware the dashes were black and those pieces were colored, my dad parted all the cars out I just remember seeing those in colors. Seems weird they did it that way though, the blue looks ok, but I think vermillion next to black would look goofy!

Sure it saved allot of dollars  or at least cents - sort of like the rear panel finishes (all being charcoal) on the fastbacks/sportroofs in 69

I looked up a few thoughbred pic's and from what I saw of the interior screws they were all natural/stainless and not painted trim color.

Am I correct??

I've never seen 69-70 interior screws painted to match the interior color.
