Upon reading all of these responses again, I cannot tell if anybody actually has ordered or installed a Scott Drake dash pad into a 67-68.
QUESTION! Has any of you:
1.) SD dealers actually handled one personally? (not the sale, the pad itself)
2.) Installed one personally?
3.) Sold any that the cuss-tummer complained about?
FACT: Scott Drake claims them as Original Ford tooling, urethane filled & will never crack (like originals, they never crack, only shrink) and when you see a photo of them, they are flimsey-looking, like the originals, not rigid like the DD or other branded aftermarket variety.
Have the masses jumped to a conclusion here? I'm just wondering. I sure don't wish to pay big $$$ on an original, to get it here and find out it is shrunken like my desert-baked original pad is. I am looking into a couple used "original" pads now. Hoping this question is answered without the speculatory chatter, but instead FACTS that are based on actual experience with the Scott Drake brand...Just like this post started out asking.
