Hello,
This is my first post on this forum even though I have been a lurker for a while.
I am bringing out my 28k miles unrestored survivor 69 Mach 1this summer for the New England Nationals in July. When I had it at the last Nationals in Sturbridge MA, it received gold in the unrestored class.
it is: 1969 Mach 1, 351 H code (single exhaust), automatic trans. Build date 5/19/69
So here is my question, I know that I have the incorrect muffler that a PO owner installed, however, I am 99% sure that the rest of the pipes are original. I would like to replace the incorrect muffler with the closest correct one and have not been able to find one.
I think the correct one should be: 2.5" inlet side which is offset to one side, 2" outlet that is centered and approximately 18" long. Does this sound correct?
All of the repro ones I have found are 2.25".
Can someone please point me to the what would be the best muffler to use?
I am also going to attempt to cut the existing muffler off without damaging the existing pipes so I can reuse the,/
Thanks,
Tony
