1967 390 GTA Holley Carb Question...
« on: May 02, 2012, 01:46:54 PM »
Hi All,

I was wondering if the Holley carburetor currently on my car is correct, or if it has been replaced at some point in the past?

The car is an early '67 390 GTA convertible built in Sept. 1966 at the San Jose plant for the San Jose Ordering District (DSO = 72).
Major options are power steering, power brakes, and it originally had the thermactor system as well (which was removed long before I bought the car).

The markings on the air horn read as follows:

5752426
LIST-1850
451

But there is no Ford tag attached to the base of the carburetor.
Please see attached images as well...

Any assistance would be most appreciated!

PS - If it's not the correct carburetor, what would the correct one be?

Replacement - original would have a Ford number on it
My reference shows

C7OE-C  for manual
C7OE-D for auto

Looks like I might have the manual version hanging in the garage if that would help

+1 for thermactor cars. Thje carb you have pictured is a 4160 Holley. Not even correct type, should be cathedral bowl 4150

Thanks guys!

So after doing a little "Googling" this morning, I just want to clarify one thing...

Jeff wrote that the part number prefixes were C7OE, but everything I found in my research this morning points to the prefix being C7OF.

I believe the full part number of the correct carb for my car would be: C7OF-9510-D

I believe you are correct.

I've seen some come up on ebay from time to time.
