Factory "Blackout"

For a 67 Mutagen built car should the engine compartment black also be on the outer shock towers and fender aprons as well as the rear wheelhouse?  What was the typical application of sound deadening spray in those locations? Thanks for your help.

First what month or day and month was the car assembled (so we can find an example as close as possible to your car to post ;)

As for the black question 67 NJ cars appear to be black from where the rear splash guard is attached on the drivers side all the way around the outer surface to the passenger side of the cowl/wheelwell where that rear splash guard would attach. (front wheel well)

On the front the sound deadener was applied after the car was completely assembled (except wheel and tire)  Will find some examples once I find out your build date

Sorry - forgot to ask you to provide where the car was built?  Dearborn, NJ or San Jose?
