While the car was being being modified at Shelby, no changes were made to the system? Bob, do you still retain your smog system? If so do can you guesstimate how much smog particulate is removed from the exhaust? Other than installing some kind of catalytic system, which I would not do, is there an additive or some other method that can reduce the amount exhaust that is generated?

Shelby did not do any engine modifications on GT350/500 production cars in 1967. Shelby had Ford do all that for reasons of efficiency and cost. I have never contemplated how to make the smog system run more efficient in fact quite the opposite . I block the smog ports and take the fins out of the smog pump to make it free wheeling. If I had to deal with smog tests I wouldn't do that but never have. Sorry i can't help with your efficiency question.

Only on a small number of cars (ones they planned on delivering in Calif) and only on those built after mid april (so only a few months left of production)

Nice thing about 67's is that the VIN shows if your car originally had Thermactor or not ;)
