Before anyone asks ;)

Aug -Sept 66 would be what ceswert would like to find but surely would consider others. Short block or just block and caps

Just trying to help

Thanks for the help Jeff! Richard now wants to keep both blocks and restore his matching one over time. He said he would help me out.

Then your looking for only a short block since you will need the Hipo rods and crank at least to start out. Don't think anyone will care about the pistons and you can choice the cam of your choice

My contact in NY has located a short block. The Vin is 6F09K211188 or 99. The short block is a C5AF6015-E. He is going to magna-flex everything, use a master rebuild kit and have the block powder coated. I have asked him to take pictures of the build which I can post. I do retain some original parts I will use on the balance of the rebuild. I am now searching for the correct Holley 715 carb. Thanks for everyone's help!

The 715 you got on the car should do ok until you can find a dated one  (to your car)  I would think. Only thing with its is that its a service replacement so that date is off

Are you going back with the headers or back to the original style cast exhaust manifolds?

Need a K code dist also unless you found one (would look for that before the carb)

Hi Jeff,
That is a very good question. My goal is to restore this car to as original as possible. I do like the current headers though. At this point I am leaning towards original. Looks like stock exhaust manifolds are available. Thanks for the info on the carb/dist.

keep in mind if you are wanting a factory look there are many other items that are painted black besides the engine block, some of which can not be powder coated. The thermostat to waterpump bypass hose comes to mind  ;) .

Excellent point. Forget the powder coating. Thanks Bob!
