1966 Hood Latch Color
« on: March 17, 2012, 03:26:54 PM »
Hi Everyone:

What is the correct factory finish for a 66 SJ Hood latch. The detail guide talks about gray and P&O. What is what? Anyone have a pic?

Thanks again,

Jeff

Throw the "detail guide" away - the forums are a MUCH better resource ;)

For those of us who don't have access to the necessary oil and phosphate supplies and equipment, is there paint finish/color that will give a similar look?

not really. do a search here under 'processes & techniques' catagory. there is an easy acceptable way to recreate the finish.

Unfortunately on a part like this (moving and contacting other metal items over and over) paint will not hold up over even a short time
