After an extensive search, and a beer, I found a sketch I made of the holes for the letters. I touched it up by darkening the hole positions, and verifying some measurement from my 66 GT. Then I scanned it. The original sheet is B size, 11 by 17, so two scan passess had to be made. There is a measurement reference from left to right in inches. I removed some notations as to where the actual holes should be to in a straight line. To locate the holes on the fender, I would lay down a strip of masking take to mark before actually making a dimple and drilling.
The -91 and -92 are the latest version done in Photoshop. I start with -99 and -98. Just a technique I use.
Jim

I did a template with Jim (nice work) drawing and tried on a wood board but letters are crocked unfortunatly, I order already a template from NPD but still very pessimist about task success. Who has tried using the template (on the market) or other with good results and how you have done it?
To drill each hole on correct position I thought on making a metal template using laser cut machine, check results and adjust until be happy, then use that metal template to drill holes on fenders...will cost lots of time and some money.
Expecting others procedures from members.

I had to replace lettering on a fender without pre-drilled holes.  I simply used the other side as a template for length and height and used emblem glue.  Turned out very nice. Something to consider...

Hello,
after getting letters template i went to a laser cut machine and with some letters adjustments I made these alloy templates, one for each side. Not perfect but OK to me. I will help if someone is interested.
Thanks to Jim as he gave me the idea.

Does anyone have the pics from Mustang monthly where it had the measurements for the letter location, and the GT badge. Also I am looking for the exact layout of the GT stripes. Thank you in advance

Of course you already saw Jim template, you may also buy one with GT or horse pins location. GT stripes look on other posts as they explain exactly how to put them on place.
Hope it help

I have used the search feature in this group and I am just not coming up with anything. If you have a link for the stripe placement I would appreciate it

ConcoursMustang Forums ?1st Generation 1964 1/2 - 1973 - Questions & general discussions that apply to a specific year ?1964 1/2 - 1965 ?Topic: 1965 GT Stripes Installation

All you need...on my case door bottom was not straight so I measured 1/8" on the thicker side and then just aligned with fender and 1/4 panel stripes.

go for it
