65 convertible top latch pin to header
« on: February 14, 2012, 03:39:12 AM »
I have a number of top frames.  One, a '65, has a pin holding the latch that is held to the header by a roll pin.  The Pin holding the latch to the header has no phillips or allen head as on later and some repros, no threads.  Wave washer top, between head of pinand latch handele, nylon washer bottom, between handle and header.  the roll pin is pressed thru the header from the side and is visible on the outside of the header, and under the latch handle on the inside.

Anyone know if this was used for the entire '65 model year or if it was a running change sometime during '65 production to the more common threaded truss head shoulder screw used thru '68?

I believe it was used through quite a ways for '65 production, if not the whole production year.  Think the late May '65 convertible I restored had the flat top pins with the roll-pin to hold in.
