Topic: dimer switch cap

The floor board of my convertible is quite rusted in this area, and my father-in-law made a make-shift metal plate to support the dimmer. I plan on replacing the floor board later this summer. (Right now I'm working on the passenger side).

Is the placement of the dimmer different on the convertible than the other two body styles? (Due to the presence of the inner rocker) Are there measurements or a template for its correct placement?
