66 Coupe Glovebox Tire Pressure Decal
« on: January 24, 2012, 01:56:56 PM »
Hello all,

First time poster.  I'm amazed by the wealth of Mustang expertise on here.

I'm replacing the fibreboard glovebox on my January '66 SJ C code 289 coupe.  Does the tire pressure decal go against the back of the box or along one of the sides?  The glove box was replaced once before without the decal so there is no evidence of the original sticker.  Was it just placed randomly depending on the worker, or is there a common location?

Also, does anyone have pictures of an original Owner's Card?  I've seen the reproductions from Marti Auto Works I'm just curious to see pics of originals.  My grandfather bought the car from Dick Lewis Ford in Vacaville, CA.  Unfortunately all of the old paperwork is lost.

I used the search function but didn't find a good reference

Here are pictures showing the two locations I typically find them - that year - that plant

Could be more to the passenger side - but back of the box

There would have been the temporary card or the bottom half of the door tag was glued or tapped to the inside of the cover of the owners manual

In this example the plate has become detached
