Is it worth the time and expense to swap out a C4 to a T-10 on a 1966 A code

Quick answer - yes. Long term answer - re-sale value affected by non-originality. Personal answer - I would, I have and would do it again - except if the car was better off stock. If I was going to make a change from a C-4 to a T-10 I would be more inclined to install a five speed (bird in hand rules apply).

My 1966 Mustang is a GT Convertible that I have taken to a judged MCA Concours Driven level and find the C4 too boring to drive.

+1 On Jim's response!  I have my original top loader in the garage, but LOVE my T-5, I am getting about 25 mpg on the highway!  Your choice, but the T-5 gives good low for chirping the tires and high final gear for mpg.

A Ford toploader is a better investment than a T-10.  Both were used in 1966.  The T-10's have a chronic problem of coming out of gear during hard acceleration/deceleration due to wear of shims.  The toploader is bullet-proof.

+1 My '66 GT came with a T-10. That's what's staying in it, but I'd prefer it having a toploader. I know It's an easier swap for me, but it's staying like it came. Toploader stuff is also easier to locate IMHO.
