Topic: 67 to 70 black interior paint

My question is related to the Dark charcoal metallic paint used in the  interior dash and door areas in the       67 cars,is it the same all the way up to the 1970 cars?

Are you looking for rattle/spray cans or from a paint gun?

If from a paint gun - enamel, water based, lacquer?

yes 67-70 the same. 65/66 is semi black. Sems interior paint is semigloss black . Your dash is Dark Grey metallic. NPD sells a rattle can .I don't like rattle can for this situation but use a base coat of semigloss black krylon and overcoat it with the rattle can Dark Grey metallic because it goes on thin and does not cover when hence the semi black base coat.

You apparently did not understand the content of my last post. The sem product is black. Your dash is the dark grey metallic so it will not work.

I use PPG products. The ppg product is also thin and you need to apply a base coat as discribed before topcoating with the PPG paint.

I use rattle can stuff all the time though some prefer spray gun stuff. Challenge we have here locally is that we're changing over to all water based s**t  so allot of stuff can't be painted legally - locally.

For a gun I would get some PPG Dark Charcoal Metallic. This may be available for you locally or can be ordered out of San Diego CA from the Auto Color Library (one of a number of business names they use.
