Front brake line fitting colors
« on: December 05, 2009, 11:31:09 AM »
I am replacing a set of brake lines to correct the fitting colors. My new set from NPD (advertised as concours correct) appears to be the same as my existing set (now that it arrived I think thats where I got the initial one from). Can someone list the correct line fitting colors to the master cylinder and prop valve? Thanks

I called Classic Tube to find out more about their brake line fitting colors. I was told that they are the vendors for NPD. I guess I stay with the NPD set I have on the car.

Cleaned a set of 69's today - only found one color on two of the fittings

7/16" were a purple/lavender

The brake line color fittings have a color for each corresponding size, be it ford, chevy, or chrysler, etc,..

Agreed the color coding was something the supplier(s) did for the car makers. Guess we need to find/make a list of the sizes and color cods to help out others.
