New Category - The Assembly Line
« on: November 20, 2011, 03:52:41 AM »
We've set up a new category to discuss assembly line related topic as well as a place to post related pictures and comments from workers that built these cars.  This is not meant to discuss, for example, "what color is the floor pan on a 66 Mustang built at X", those can best be dealt with in the sections they now are.  We'll see how it develops and adjust accordingly.

We felt this new category would be helpful as we see related subjects being posted in different sections related to specific years.  These past discussions will me moved or split if they relate to the general assembly rather than year and plant specific to keep things all tidy ;)

If you post something you found elsewhere you must give create to the link or information.  At the same time if you see something that belongs to you and posting it is not approved, please let us know and it will be deleted.

Think it will be a place to share and to learn for all of us.

BTW - If your a GUEST please feel free to read and view all the other categories but the Assembly Line, like the Library, are restricted to MEMBERS only.

* In closing I could use some help filling out the plants and years for later production so that they may be represented there also.

As always - Thanks for participating and making this site what it is.

Thanks, Jeff!

If I have pictures or comments where I'm not entirely sure which plant they belong to, how should I post them?

Jeff, should Shelby assembly be included?  Or do you feel the SAAC forum takes care of that?

I think that is the challenge (with pictures) if that we do not always know where the pictures were taken (all the plants sent pictures to the archives) so we have to really be careful IMHO drawing linkage with other processes or pictures since it may lead us in the wrong direction.  Think its important to label pictures in a group to one another that way once/if we determine where they were taken the group and be classified and moved together. Also if the original numbering system is kept or maintained we can use those numbers to link and or find others that relate.

Will make a GENERAL ASSEMBLY LINE DISCUSSION AREA for a catch all for those pictures we are not sure of or pictures/movies from other non- Mustang producing lines since they might help a little.

Greg - can't see it hurting anything so I'll make some sections and wee how they develop.

Have started an information/picture dump in the sections to seed the threads - Enjoy!!
