wiring gas tank sender

Hi Guy, my friend has 2 mach 1, one 428 SCJ and the other one CJ.
The first one Mach 1 ( 428 SCJ) is built in New-Jersey ( built 22 May 1969) and the second mach 1 (428 CJ) is built in Michigan (15 June 1969).
My question is=
Why wiring gas tank sender is on left side ( driver side in trunk floor) for Mach 1 built in New-Jersey and why the other one (built in Michigan) the wiring gas tank is on right side ( passager side in trunk floor)
What the difference for this?
It's ok?
 I need HELP   
I want knowledge which side go the wiring for gas tank sender.  Left side or right side For mustang 428 scj built (may 22 1969) in new-Jersey?      and also i want knowledge which side go the wiring for gas tank sender for mustang 428 CJ built ( June 15 1969) in Michigan ( dearborn).

9/19/68 built SCJ @ Metuchen.  Fuel tank sending unit wire leaves the sending unit and enters the trunk on the RIGHT hand side.  Brian

Not sure if this is a "wiring" question or a question of the location of the holes in the trunk floor for staggered shock cars ! SO......
All cars had the rear harness run down the driver rocker through the rear quarter AND THE YELLOW fuel wire across the trunk floor to the hole to get under the car.


The wire runs over the tank at rear and through the trunk grommet.  (This due to staggered shocks)  I don't think dual exhaust has anything to do with it.


From under the car you can see the wire runs back toward the SENDER (remember this is SJ)  I don't think all plants used as many clips.


 The other area was RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the trunk -so if this isn't a repaired trunk with a wrong panel it could be a case of an owner "SHORTENING" the yellow wire !  (if it has been drilled on the driver side)

This is some of the answers I was looking for but I've got a few more questions.The first is what rear light harness are you guys using? There only seems to be 2 rear harnesses being produced, one with the convenience group and the other without. These are set up with the short yellow wire having the grommet and 90 degree connector for the single exhaust cars. What are you guys using for a rear harness that will work with the long extension for the dual exhaust cars? I suppose that the 90 degree connector will work but it seems that Ford would set a straight connector if they were going to use an extension. Also does anyone know where I can find the extension wire?
