Rear Valance and back-up lights
« on: June 29, 2011, 12:16:01 AM »
Just doing the final detailing on the rear valance before attaching it hopefully tomorrow. Some one commented that i'm missing backing plates at the rear back-up lights. Got me to thinking if I ever remember any. He made it sound like there would be something similar to the plates behind the fender marker lights. i don't remember anything like that at the rear. Did notice that my rear back-up lights are NOS as well as the gaskets which are kind of a putty/taupe color. Bought all this stuff so long ago I guess I forgot I had it.

No backing plates were used on them. Only a cup shaped washer under the nut. They are reproduced. Marty

Hmmm don't remember seeing that but I do have an original 67 rear valance out of Dearborn so I will check that one. 67 versus 68 may be different?

I believe it is covered in the assemblyline manual although some plants may not follow that particular detail.Bob
