'65 Trunk mat
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:41:03 PM »
I've got the heavy moulded reproduction mat in my '65 Convertible, was dinged a point at the Jax National for bad fit on the mat, can I use some heat (a heat gun) to try & get it smoothed out some?

Sure, heat might help.  You may also need to trim it.  If you can post some pics, might be able to help with where the judges saw issues.

Charles, Thanks!! You know the story about the judges that I told you in a private Email.....they did not explain anything to me to as to why they deducted ANY of the points they did, I had absolutely no idea what they deducted until I got my judging sheet in the mail.

I am actually enjoying learning the finer points of restoration/showing/judging in the MCA, and am enjoying adjusting/fixing things I was dinged points for.

I hold no one execpt myself responsible for my cars condition during judging over 2 years after it was restored, period!

Is there a photo of the offending trunk mat so those of us still assembling our cars know what to watch for?   ;D

when you try to post photos use the 'additional options' button. it is very easy from there.
