I removed my original master cylinder and wheel cylinders about 6 or 7 years ago due to leaking and had them put away for rebuilding purposes later on. In the continual cleaning and moving around my in-laws shop someone tossed them or ran off with them. I recently picked up a master that I thought looked correct (no hole for brake switch) and had the same shape/appearance of my original and the NOS unit that Charles put on his K.

I never inspected my original for markings/date codes and I get the feeling that I bought some older replacement part from a parts store. It has a code (date code maybe) that is 4 digits on the upper passenger side of the bowl. The bottom has like a 1.00 diam or something like that marking on it and there is a 5 or 6 digit # on the bottom side of the bowl. I have pics I took but they are on the home computer.

Was hoping someone could help me verify this as original or not. Thanks

Probably be best to post a pic.  Most of the original units were Bendix and you'll normally find the name cast into the MC or maybe a 'B', in the original logo type.

Trying to post the pics Charles. It's acting up. Hopefully this will work. It was advertised as a rebuilt original, but I'm thinking its not. Thanks!
