Topic: 1967 deluxe door panels U-cup installation

I?m struggling with the door panels of my 67 GT350, I have a set of reproduction panels and I can?t figure out how to install the U-cup around the handle, the new set appears to be missing some sort of internal plastic structure that works as guide and support for both the cup and the pull handle. Am I supposed to reuse it from the original panels? If so, how do I split the new panels open without damaging them??

It is just another case of the reproduction is not as good as the original. You do not use the original inner structure; you will reuse the finger cup that screws to the door bracket and the door release handle cup just slips in and is held there by the handle.  It is not as good as Ford but works.

I tried, but there nothing to hold the U cup in place other than the two plastic tabs at the bottom, there?s no way to hold it in position, let alone install the panel on the door

Glue it in with some clear silicone or hot glue.
