Topic: 67 buck tag question

I have a friend who is restoring a Metuchen S code 67 fastback. It was the 46th built. On the buck tag it says Extra SOL. Does anyone know what that is. I checked Kevin Marti's tag book and no help there.

Its an early car, but how did you determine it was the 46th built?

7T02S100046 was not necessarily the 46th car.

I am going to say this says something about being a dealer promo or show car on the Marti report?

If yes, "extra sol" is likely extra solder/lead, those cars had smoothed out body seams done at the factory

Yes, I agree it may not have been actually the 46th car but let's just say it is a very early car. It was built 8-21-66. The Marti report says it was a highly optioned show unit. I think you are correct about the extra lead work on the seams. I judged a 68 fast back 00002 at the 60th and all of its seams were smoothed out. It would have been disappointing if you saw one of these show cars and then ordered one only to get one that did not have all of this extra work.

Thats similar to my experience, I saw one of the early 67 convertibles and all the visible seams were deleted

There are some unique notations on some of these tags. I have seen one that said "primer" according to Kevin a few cars came through fully assembled without top color coats.
