Voltage Reg

For my MAR 66 Metuchen C-Code...What are folks doing for a voltage regulator for Concours Driven?

Get an AMK repro to swap out at the shows, but when driving the car, use an electronic Motocraft unit.

I have a Dead Nuts On, alternator.  I think their new "insides" puts out 60Amps???

On AMK's list, they have AUTOLITEs and FoMoCo 's for 38 & 42 amps, and 45 & 55 amps. 

It looks like the C5TF-AUTOLITE would be best since it's for 55 amps?  Right?

Believe the most typical for a power top/ac car would be the yellow print one.  Although, some original cars have been contradictory in that matter.

All of the AMK Voltage Regulators are the same internally, so you just go with the stamping you want or need.

Is your EG424 an AMK repro?  Your pic shows screws.  I thought it should have rivets?
Yes, it is an AMK repro.  The earlier Voltage Regulators had screws holding the cover on.  Later, rivets were used.  Note:  That EG-424 is on backorder from AMK right now  :(

How are the Dead Nuts on alternators?  I've been thinking about purchasing one?  Anyone have any problems with them?  OR what is everyone else using?

The alternator?  Well... It's Dead Nuts On...I guess.  The guy is super knowledgeable, has OE cores, not repops, (I thinks he's getting set up to make clone housings)  he has brand new stators manufactured for him, (not rewound ones), he stamps the right color and dates FOR YOUR CAR.  He's gonna start DIPPING the pulleys and fans instead of yellow zinc.

I still haven't sat the engine back in so the jury is still out on how it actually works.

Dipping ???  Don't understand the comment since zinc dichromate is a dipping process

My pulley and fan is yellow zinc dichromate, which, according to what I saw in Mannel's book, is incorrect.

     The transition from the black painted to the zinc dichromate happened in later 66 production so some cars did have the zinc gold plated fans and some did not depending on when they were produced at what time in which plant. I know San Jose was sometime in mid production based on the GT350's I have seen. Bob

I don't think my car would be a "later" 66 car.  So, I guess the black is right for mine.
