1969 Reinforced Rear Frame Rails
« on: January 22, 2025, 04:41:10 PM »
Long shot, but I was wondering if anyone has pictures of the inside of a 1969 reinforced frame rails that came on the 4 speed cars?  I think they may have been used on the convertibles as well.

Thanks,

Wade

I don't have a picture of a rear frame rail with the floor panel cut away over the top opening.  You can often see the retaining spot welds on the side of the frame rail that faces the center of the car but that doesn't help in your case

NPD has some pictures that show the detail. They sell a part although not exact once installed you will not be able to tell it isn't . It will be at the very least as functional as the original part. https://www.npdlink.com/product/crush-tube-rear-frame-rail/184719

Bob believe he's referring to the additional reinforcement installed on the inside of the frame rails above or just in front of that over the rearend location to strengthen the frame rail. Not related to exhaust in any way.

Yes, I was wondering about the inner reinforcement at the front.

Thanks,
