Just wondering if other oil coolers have similar ink stamps like this.

Yes and no- for 69's

Have seen them (date and two coats epoxy) as a single stamp and as two separate stamps. Believe this was a change from the supplier during the 69 production year. Yours was applied with a firm hand to the point where the guy stamping pushed hard enough to push the paint/ink off the face of the stamp producing a shadow looking results

Have only seen stamp on early (flat plug) type oil coolers and separate stamps as i think someone who made a copy made them together as if they were made separately ford could keep useing the 2 coats epoxy over and only keep changing the date stamp and the only documented date stamps i seen were 68 date.

Could be correct in that it was likely the same worker that applied both stamps and maybe he or another worker assigned to the tasked sometimes got them both lined up nicely together and other times not even close.

Agree that some did make and sell (maybe still does) a single stamp with both aligned nicely. The picture of that stamp I have is dated Feb 20 1969. Guessing like some makers of stamps he might not have gone to the effort of producing a bunch of different dates for his stamps plus it would allow him to track when his stamps were used and applied. I've done that just to see how many people someone that got one of my stamps and how many friend he or she shared them with. Making little changed other changes will produce the same tracking ability also.

It is sort of interesting that I have pictures of what was represented as a NOS cooler that was stamped with a neat Two Coats and date with a Feb 26 1969 date.

Also have a particle from a 69 GT500 example with only a small amount of the stamp left. Can't figure out how the letters (what I can make out) fit into either of the two stamps. Maybe I'm just looking past the answer  ::)

Ed - Thanks for sharing

Jeff that stamp says INLET. so worker know which hose to hook up to the bottom fitting as i seen that stamp used  after the 2 coats epoxy and date stamp. I have seen these oil coolers installed upside down before as they will mount either way in the brackets. This can be a problem with the 429 and boss 302 oil lines since the block adapter fittings are next to each other and can easy be installed wrong. The bottom  cooler INLET fitting should go to the short bottom hose and be routed to the INNER (closest to the block fitting . If u look at B9 short bottom hose the nut end is painted black so workers know that end goes to inner fitting and thats why that hose end by cooler wasnt painted black like the 428 scj since the 428scj lines can only be hooked up 1 way (idiot proof). I have seen many boss cars with oil lines installed wrong  on the block adapter end as its easy done BUT it was designed to hook up this way so the oil when it got hot and adapter spring and ball started  releasing the hot oil to the bottom of cooler and pushing oil up to top cooler and out upper hose and back to adapter. This way the oil went thru all the fins and tubes  to kool better as if the oil was routed to top of cooler the oil would just fall to bottom of cooler and get air bubbles and foamy. This routing is the same as the water  radiator pushes from bottom and goes up to kool better.
