Well from the description your "NOS" solenoid doesn't fit the description of an original nor a Ford service replacement . Of course many sellers on Ebay and other locations will list parts as NOS only relying on the definition of new old stock. NOT specifically a Ford NOS part. Unless they have placed the item in an old Ford box or placed one in the picture in the ad to possibly mislead buyers in believing it is or was an original Ford part.
There are two versions of the Autolite starter solenoid used during the production year the flat and the more upright style. Which one was used at which plants has not been determined as of yet that I know of with any certainty or documention. Though we can at times look at other examples from same plant same production period in an effort to find the most likely version for a particular car. Guess this is for your Dearborn built coupe?
