My dad finally shipped to me some parts that we had changed out on my 65 fb.  Included in the box was the floor shift housing since we put in a console, gas pedal, T handle off the shifter, and some various other parts (rear bumper brackets, corral bars since we added fog lights)...How do I know if it is the original gas pedal or not?  I don't see any part numbers on it or anything....Also I was looking at the t-handle for the shifter and the one in the box looks a little different than the one on there now...I don't know how to describe it.  I'll see if I can post a picture of it later....

An Original Gas Pedal for 1965 will have a C4ZA- or C5ZA- Part Number molded in to the very rear edge of rubber.

The Early 65 Auto shifter T-Handle was a little different then the Later Cars.

Found the numbers...they are actually in between the rubber and the metal plate...cool...now i know it is original

Ok so here are the two t-handles I have.  The top one as you can see is a little thicker and is straight across the top as opposed to somewhat angled like the bottom one.  Which one should be on the car or is more correct?

The one on the top is the early 64.5 style. I was told first few months of production.

Hmm....the top one is the one originally on the car...build date was oct 64...Wonder when change over was?

I need to alter my statement..it "looked" like the earler style.

Here are my two shifter handles. The one on the left is the early 64.5 style. The more I look at your photo the less it looks like the early one. Almost looks to thick.

    Don't mean to take this off topic but for some reason I can't send PM's this morning.

I understand that the early shift handles are shorter (like your picture shows) than later models but I don't have both of them side-by-side like you do to compare, can you give me general measurements on the width of the 2 handles so I can confirm which one I have.

The 64.5 handle on the left is 2 4/5 inches long (not counting the buttons) and 1 1/10 inches wide at the thickest part (center of the shaft).

Also there is quite abit of taper in the handle just like the standard handle. I have no clue what handle that is (the one in the picture above) but I feel it may not be a 64.5 one.

Anyone know where that top one is from in my pic?  Does it look like one someone has seen before?  And lastly, which one should go on the car?

So I was looking on ebay and found a car that is 887 units off from mine and built they day after.  Anyways, I was looking at his shifter handle, he has the same one that I do.  It doesnt come to a point at the top but is relatively flat.  So would this be an early shifter handle of some type?  Below is the pic of his handle and the link to the ebay auction.

Just a slight correction since we don't know when the cars were really built the door tag indicates when Ford thought they would be finished with the car.  Normally different (by looking at other years where we have lots of data points) the real date

In any case, for the early years all you can do IMHO is looking fro a car with the VIN close to yours and from the same plant.

Looks like a later-style handle, like 69-70 maybe.
