428 Cobra Jet Coil Bracket
« on: October 13, 2024, 01:55:37 AM »

Did a search on the forum here and wanted to confirm if anyone has any original coil brackets used on the 68.5, 69 and 70 Cobra Jet engines.  There is two versions out there with the correct indexing notch on them, but from what I have seen the style that is flat without the raised edges is what I think is correct.  Could not find any exact drawings in the paperwork I have, so curious what others have seen.

Here I go again!  It looks like the one that was on my '69 SJ car was the flat style.  Yes, I added a repro engine tag.

It is my understanding that technically the one without the reinforcement (flat style) was used on the CJ engine because the smog tube brace bracket added support there so the reinforcement wasn?t needed. With that said I have seen both styles on survivor type Mustang CJ cars. That?s my 2 cents.
