Ray Brown marked belts were used back in the day 65/66 . Maybe later as things evolved. Race cars typically didn't stay the same season after season.

Never heard of "Rupert" or seen any marked at way.

As Bob mentioned. If a car was raced over a number of seasons belts were one of those things that needed to be replaced on a regular bases. Not sure how often back in the 60's but helmets kind of fell under the same retirement requirements. Thrown away my share of barely used helmets and belts over the years  ::)
