Have a 01/16/69 build GT350 convertible. What would be typical markings on the water pump if it were original?
Thanks

It would typically be a C8OE-D casting . Possibly a J. It would be painted Ford dark blue given it was bolted on when the engine was painted . It would have about a inch of the inlet bare cast iron from being masked off during the engine painting process. The hub flange was masked off so as to be unpainted also. Don't forget to paint the bypass hose and clamps blue also as they were on the engine when it was painted.

Finally got around to checking. To my old eyes it appears to be marked C80E-A.Not claiming it's original, the engine has previously been rebuilt at least once to my knowledge.

Most likely replaced if a C8OE-A. In 1969 production the C8OE-D would have been most typical based on a 1/16/69 build date.

Was under the impression that the 1966-69 small block water pumps had casting numbers: C6OE-A, C8OE-D, C8AE-A, and C8AE-J. There are more?

The C8OE-A is what the core sitting on my shelf reads.
