The "U" suffix typically stood for "Universal" There is a D0ZF-9510-U (air horn location)that is listed as a 780 CFM universal carb. Regardless most likely a universal replacement which means there is not a specific model it was used on.

I believe the "P" in the number above represents a general replacement item, not the usual "car line" identifier.
(And it's a zero "0" after the "D". That is very important if using an internet search engine.)

Iirc, didn't Motorcraft start on production cars in 71? So a factory carb would be expected to be a D1**? Sorry, maybe I'm making a generic assumption here but it might explain the D0zf carb as being an early service replacement.

In the context of this thread the carb in question seems to be a universal service replacement meant to take the place in multiple applications.
