1970 428 PCV system
« on: August 16, 2024, 12:14:39 AM »
Im in the middle of detailing three CJ engines here (68, 69, and 70) so may revise the Cobra Jet detailing guide with some more information I have come across.  I assume on the 1970 version the PCV and vacuum fittings were installed before paint and painted blue with the engine.  Wondering if someone has original evidence of that.  I have 1970 FE assembly instructions from Ford but this detail is not mentioned in there.  Any input from the 70 experts or someone with an original 70 CJ crate engine?

I am adding a photo here I pulled from Mansfield Mustang that shows the system better and circled exactly what I am asking about.  I believe these fittings were on the engine when painted.

Couple of shots of the unrestored intake from the 70 CJ convertible that is shown in the Unrestored Picture section of the site
