Were all FE engines harmonic balancer painted?

Did some FEs' have inside painted black and outside (of rubber) not painted?

In the context of Mustang FE harmonic balancers were typically painted.

Guess you might have seen a service replacement. Have pictures of one where the inside surface was left unpainted. The company or factory supplying them at that time didn't read the specs I guess since this would promote surface rust while they sat on the shelf waiting to be sold

There would be no paint applied to the center hole where the balancer would slide over the end of the crankshaft. All black otherwise
