Side by side,  the Scott Drake part (top) is very different from the one I pulled off my car (bottom). The head on the SD part is thinner,  the threads are longer,  and there is the groove on the threads.

Like so many reproduction but better now then in the past, its likely that the reproduction was copied from a later service part purchased in the 80-90's

Out of curiosity, what type of drive is on the lower screw, the one you "damaged"?

I wish I had some patience to figure out where the bolt might have rusted to the pedal and would have not destroyed it.  Oh well.  Maybe I need to get another 68 , I'll know better next time.

That looks like a Phillips (or a"Posidriv" type -  I almost always use the same type X-Rec screwdriver on either). The drive shown in the NPD drawing looks like a six point, like an Allen screw or one with "points" around the hex (the name escapes me). What you had installed was the 64-67 type, not the C8OZ-9873 (it's missing the "-A" according to the MPC). The NPD screw "may" be the Concourse correct style.

Apparently there was a change as of April 25, 1968 which my car is before. That's specified in the NPD listing. So yes concours for cars after April 25 1968 possibly,  but not for me.

Looks like mine,  the threads are about the same length as the unthreaded section unlike the Scott Drake part where the threads are longer than unthreated section.
