seal fender to apron
« on: July 09, 2024, 02:16:27 PM »
Does anyone offer a seal for fender to apron sealing as opposed to butyl type material used at factory. Couple years ago a Mustang parts source offered 1" wide kit to seal fenders. Thanks

Not sure what year and model car you referring to as it might make a difference but for my 68 coupe I recently had some inner fender body work so the fenders had to be removed.  I got the pictured grey stripping caulk sealer 903-4 from NPD and it installed easily because it's in long strips.

well if they did it would not be considered concours correct as is the focus of this forum. go with the strip caulk as suggested.

+1 Easier to work with - though you'll get you hands or gloves dirty making one strip from multiple ones. Other produces are normally thinner in consistency so they will run out over any opening causing drips that would not be original and create more work. On the 71-73 typically none will be visible from the engine compartment side

For others make sure you choose the right color for your year and plant. NPD product (the light gray) is a copy of the service replacement stuff Ford sold during the 80's (shown below)
