1/27/67 GT500 Ignition Coil
« on: July 06, 2024, 04:23:27 PM »
Is this the correct coil for a 1/27/67 GT500? I couldn't find the answer in the library. Thanks.

The decal artwork is incorrectly made ,has a incorrect date code and decals were never used originally. The coils were ink stamped from the factory. The coil is different compared to assemblyline in that it is missing some small letters and numbers cast into the mold of genuine and the terminals are metric I think. The nuts besides being metric are the wrong finish and style. For my money finding a nice condition genuine yellow top coil is the way to go. If you are not that concerned about original and nuance details and you don't want to invest the time to refurbish the outside of a genuine coil then the repro coil is a 1 800 number away. FYI the repros have been known to fail at a much higher rate then even a 60 year old genuine. You may check reviews about returns and service here for CJ Pony parts as there have been problems posted in the past.

This may not be the correct "Ford" logo, but the dimensions are correct. The stamping process used a silver epoxy ink. Here a link to a previous discussion.

Thanks all. CJ's was just an example although I don't see one on NPD. I'll have to check EBay

Hi Just wanted to say the word is really Jeff's signature. How else would you know it is really him??
Also could not agree more with cheap coil failure. Originals are far better and if corroded can be cleaned in most cases and will operate fine.
