Interesting 1967 sports sprint window sticker
« on: June 28, 2024, 03:33:05 PM »
This picture is from a car that was listed on Facebook marketplace. Assuming this is an original window sticker I noticed that a/c is listed as part of the sports sprint option

Looks like a "bank error in the original owner's favor" because A/C was not included in the Sports Sprint package in any model year.

Just a thought,  maybe not if you can compare 67 to 68 Sprint B. My Sprint B option was only $116.16 on the window sticker and doesn't include AC. This 67 Sports Sprint option with AC was about $350 best I can tell.  The extra $240 would make sense for the AC. In addition the vinyl roof option in 67 was the same as the vinyl roof for my car.

Any idea the price and condition of this car?

Apparently, the 67 Mustang Sports Sprint had a Spring Sale package which included SelectAire Factory AC.

I clicked on that thread and the folks there do not claim the A/C was part of the Sports Sprint package. Perhaps you need to re - read it?

Nor do those folks claim that the Sports Sprint package did not include AC.

The OP window sticker provides evidence that AC was included in 67 Sports Sprint package at one point in time, "bank error" theory notwithstanding.

I have a 67 NJ Sports Sprint that I have owned for 49 years.  I have never seen any literature that indicates they ever came with AC as part of "that" package.

Some information I have found said that AC was not included in the Sports Sprint option but AC would be discounted if purchased with the Sports Sprint package.

I the picture above of the window sticker I wish I could see the price of the Sports Sprint package better and see if it is more than a normal Sports Sprint option alone.

The possibility of the Sport Sprint package including AC might be tied to special promotion period during the production year. Looked through the few window stickers I have copies of were interesting to look at focusing on this subject. Will try and post pictures of them tomorrow.

If I recall correctly in Marti reports for most of the time at least since he started printing them if an option or detail was included within a package then that item was not listed separately in the report. Did I recall that correct?

I have a Marti report that is only 4 years old. The car was ordered with the sports sprint option and it also has the a/c option which is also listed on the Marti report. Not sure that the Marti report would omit a/c as part of the sports sprint option if it was available for a limited time as the Marti report I have lists rocker panel moldings and wheel covers as an option even though it was part of the sports sprint package.

From the Marti Report, it sure does look like the Sports Sprint option was more than seasonal given the over 101K vehicles with this option.  For my Sprint  B in 68 there were only a little more than 15K made.  My point being AC might be added or not depending on the customer, not necessarily a part of the Sports Sprint option.

Thought I would post these to help the discussion.

7R01C1863x Window sticker with no AC. Can't be certain that this is a real or reproduction at this point

Matching Marti report

7T01T2575xxx  with AC included in the package

7R01C1848xx with AC not listed in the package but separately in the Marti report. Very closely VINed to the first example without the AC listed in the Marti report

I found https://www.mustangattitude.com/ when searching for info on the Sprint Mustangs since I have a 68 SprintB.  It appears the Sprint started in 1966 with the Sprint 200. Then in 67 it was the Sports Sprint.  In 68 it became the Sprint A or Sprint B. Ford skipped a few years until 1972 when the Sprint came back to promote the Olympics. Interesting read here.

It looks to me like if you ordered the$356.09 AC with the Sports Sprint option you got the $45 Sports Sprint option free.
