Is the following guide for the hood black out and stripes correct for my Mach1 ?
(thanks Armond copy & paste saves retyping!)
"The correct numbers are 7/16" between the main black out and the outer pin stripe and this stripe is 1/8" As far as the distance between the hood edge and the outer stripe, it was inconsistant and I have seen it either a touch to the left or right. It was laid up with a jig and if it was not centered perfect it would be off. To center the stripe exactly according to the measurements of the two original paint hoods I have, the main black out from the edge of the hood to the edge of the main black out is 1 3/16" The outer pin stripe then 7/16" of an inch from the black out, then it will be correctly centered. Also as a important note, at the front of the hood. If you measure from where the turn straightens out, the outer stripe is 2 3/16" from the edge of the hood. This point should be at just abouit the 3" mark from the OUTSIDE EDGE of the hood. This measurement from this point to the point of the center of the hood at the nose, the distance there needs to change 3/8" of an inch closer to the edge of the hood. If you don't and put this equal along the edge, it is an optical illusion and it makes it appear that at this point the black out is too short. I hope this makes sence! It seems drastic but if you don't it will look strange! I hope this helps and was not to confusing. Good luck!"
Also the 1/8" stripe has a gap of approx 1/4" between the end of the stripe and the edge of the hood and cowl.
