67 Fender changes : -A vs. -B
« on: August 04, 2023, 08:01:47 PM »
According to the 68 MPC there was a change in the 67 fender part number revision letter from -A to -B. The service part numbers are C7ZZ-16005-A RH (and 16006 LH) "Before 12/1/66" and C7ZZ-16005-B RH (and 16006 LH) "From 12/1/66."

This may be a running change item.

However, do know what is at the heart of the change?

Update subject to change hyphen to colon.

Fender rubbing issues. I believe the change was in the flaring of the opening. Wheel opening moldings also updated at the same time. I believe Jeff shared a service bulletin on the subject several years ago..

Ah, so two running changes. Fender and trim.
I gather this would affect all plants.

Yes, Fenders and trim were stamped and processed at other facilities.  If I recall the major sheet metal stamping operations were in Woodhaven (Michigan, still there), the Cleveland Ohio area, and Buffalo New York.  I'm not sure about molding operations though.
