You need to put what color of interior. If it is the most common interior color black then the "Dark Charcoal Metallic" is what it is most typically called. It may be called slightly different depending on the paint line. Also the formula will change depending on whose paint you use. Each paint MFG should have that interior paint formula in their records.

In addition and as posted in the large thread covering the color the Dark Charcoal metallic is often a thin paint without allot of pigment so many (including me) apply it lightly (a couple of light dry coats) over a base of black. With many of the mixes and without a dark base by the time you build up the color the paint layers can be thick, filling the grain, and can produce a glossier than called for final finish

Back to your question - yes it would help knowing the color of your interior or the code. Of course if you look in the Library section of the site under 1970 Mustangs you will find an article that includes the interior paint codes, and the Ditzler code fro that color (from the 1970's) as a start. Paint can be difficult since not all of us can purchase the same products because of state or country legal issues and painters that will not choose to run the risk of spraying illegal paints for good reason

Since your looking for the lower dash on a white interior the color is Dark Charcoal Metallic

Though its an old code the original code is 32586

You can get replacements a number of places just depends if your going to use good paint or rattle can. If you read other threads on preparing and spraying this color you will notice that its important to strip all paint off without  using something like discs or sand paper. Apply a base of black very thin but enough for full coverage and then only a couple of dry thin full coats of the Charcoal to maintain that non-glossy final look and not fill the grain with paint or clear in the Charcoal metallic

Doesn't matter what the interior color was, all lower dashes and steering columns were the charcoal black. Cougars got color matching paint.

Only if the Cougar had the standard or decor interior. If the Cougar had the XR-7 option then the dash and steering column are painted Charcoal Black metallic just like a Mustang.
