69 tailamp and marker lamp stud protectors
« on: April 20, 2011, 12:32:06 PM »
I have noted many of  the 70 models have the taillight & marker lamp light grey plastic protectors installed over the studs however have not noticed as much or any on the 69 models. Does anyone know when they started installing these?

Here is a picture of a low mileage 69 Dearborn car showing the different sty;e stud protector used then. Do have examples on Dearborn and San Jose 69 Mustangs

Didn't seem to hold up well over the years - like the luggage screw covers/protector it seems

Don't recall seeing anything on the studs for the rear markers that I recall

Never seen them on 69 Rear Markers. Those were the smaller ones without the inner support, In 1970 the Rear Markers became larger and deeper, and had the Brown Support housing inside. That is when I have seen the Grey Plastic Supports on the mounting Posts.
