1965 Anyone seen dark blue metallic interior?
« on: April 16, 2011, 07:48:46 PM »
Hey everyone, I just bought some reproduction kick panels and noticed they didn't match my other interior plastic part. The inside seat hinge covers are a real dark blue with glittery speckles in them and they are FoMoCo stamped... That reminded me that the interior paint I bought didn't match either. the original was also dark and metallicy. Have you guys seen this dark blue in a 65 car before? parts suppliers tell me it doesnt exist. I'll try to get pictures later.

Someone may have re-painted your interior to something close to Caspian Blue.........I've not seen any '65 interiors any darker than the 2 pieces in the picture here.

I don't think the pieces are painted wouldn't I be able to chip paint off of them?

Mazola-
The hinge covers I have pictured are the original covers (note the holes are near the end of the cover, the '65 covers had the holes in the middle). My interior is standard blue vinyl. Don't know whether or not you could chip paint off if they were painted - check the back of the cover, that should be not have been tampered with. BTW - mine have no metallic, just your basic blue injected plastic.
