My spare is a 5 spoke MagStar. I do not have my original J hook, nut or washer for my spare. I see NPD sells several, but none are exact matches to the original I don't believe. I can't find any on the Branda site. Anyone have a recommended vendor or best match for the 1967 MagStars? I know it is supposed to be like "C" in the attachment. Thanks.
This is the J hook I have that I believe to be original to our 67 GT350 that has mag stars.
If someone could lay an unmounted Magstar and 10 spoke flat on a table and measure from the table to the highest point where the cap is installed that could help us out.The area where the cap is installed is taller than where the lug nuts are located (in cross section). The rim width is 7".The steel wheel has its center hole in roughly the same plane as the lug nut location. And the rim width is 6".If the same J hook were used on all three then the steel wheel would show a lot more threads.
I found a hook that looks to be correct?? and are in stock at Tony Branda. https://store.cobranda.com/19spwhmobo.html It is the correct 3/8" thickness.
That should work!I have yet to locate our original Wheel Mounting Plate (referred to as washer in topic subject line)What is the correct one for a 67 shelby with Magstars?1965-67 Standard Wheel Mounting Plate https://store.cobranda.com/19stwhmopl.html1965-67 Styled Steel/10 Spoke Wheel Mounting Plate https://store.cobranda.com/19ststspwhmo.html
Here is the measurement for an unmounted Magstar.inside rim edge of Magstar laying flat on groundDimension through center cap hole from ground to front edge where center cap mounts7 3/4"
The small one is for the small hole in the deluxe wheel of ether Magstar or Ten Spoke . The larger style is for the larger center on the steel wheel.
