Deluxe Seat button backing plate
« on: November 17, 2022, 09:34:48 AM »
I just wanted confirm that the seat button backing plate goes with the cupped side facing the seat cover and not the other way around. Photo 1 is the back of my seats that I believe were the original and unmolested. The cup side is facing the seat cover. Photo 2 is from an old photo someone posted on the internet. The cup side is facing the foam. Which is correct?

I agree with Marty.  Notice in the picture of your seats posted how the plate has dug and cut into the burlap (which is not a good thing) because it was installed with the cup side facing the upholstery .  ;)

Thank you for the information. I can see advantages / disadvantages to having it either way.  I thinking was that the recessed (cupped) side would go towards the seat cover so the button would be slightly recessed in the seat.
