Soft trim color codes?
« on: November 08, 2022, 11:21:07 AM »
I?ve been looking at the MPC for 67 soft trim colors. I?m trying understand the charts, meaning a kick panel for instance. The right hand kick panel part number is C7ZZ 6502344, then with a 2B interior, the color code is A1B. Is there someplace that tells me what A1B is? Other components such as the sun visors has a suffix a B1B. Door panels are A2A, arm rest pads are A2B. I THINK that items such as the lower dash pad, windshield pillar pads, dash pad, standard door panels, arm rest pads, there is only one blue option to choose from. But items such as headliner, sun visors and carpet there is more than one shade of blue to choose from. How can I use the MPC to help me determine which shade of blue I need to buy? I can look at pictures of other 2B interiors, but that doesn?t tell me if the headliner, sun visors and carpet are a light blue or medium blue.

I appreciate any help on trying to understand the interior color codes for a 67 Mustang 😊

I think you are using the "dash number" (the "A1B") of the service part number (C7ZZ-6502344) as a color code. The interior trim code on the door data tag (or from a Marti Report) is the code used in the interior trim section of "Ford Car Parts" (aka MPC). See if that makes more sense.

Thank Jim. I still don?t understand how to determine which shade of blue I will need for the 67. 2B is the interior trim code, but I can?t figure out how to determine which shade of blue the car would have had for the headliner, sun visors and carpet for instance.

Thanks for your patience!

Try this.
It's from "How To Restore Your Mustang" by Larry Dobbs and Donald Farr. The book was publisher in 1989 and "may" need an update by the "experts". It at least gives you a starting point.
