65 Dash Pad
« on: March 30, 2011, 08:29:50 PM »
I have interior code 28 which is ivy gold vinyl, I have the original dash pad in the car and it is green.  Did Ford Make a green dash pad in 65 or was it black and they dyed it green?

I don't recall ever seeing any factory-installed dash pads that were dyed.  Your dash should have been molded in dark green.

Charles,

That's what I figured that Ford did make one in green.  Now my other question is, how come I never see one for sale, even NOS.  Mine is in great condition right now, but later down the road who knows what will happen.  And based on my color combination of the car and people's preference and popularity, no one hardly ever puts it back to that combination.  I figured there would be at least a few green dash pads that would of survived, hopefully, somewhere....

I'm guessing since it was a low demand item, there weren't very many sold through parts counters.  I bet if you do find one, you can probably get a deal on it!   :D
